It took a Spider to teach me how to face my fears.

The scariest thing in the world to me used to be spiders. I had nightmares and often didn't sleep very well if I even thought the tiniest of spiders was in my room at night. As I grew older I learned more about spiders and faced my fears and so now I do not freeze with fear every time I see one. However if I was to ever come across this spider family as seen in this picture as fascinating as it is to see I think all my child hood fears would resurface. But I remind myself I can face my fears no matter what it may be. So just this little blog to share this amazing photo on PostWorthy as a reminder that facing our fears is a valuable thing in our lives to keep us moving along our path in life.

The Day After

Obama wins and all the hard work of both candidates comes to a close. All was quiet today in my town, remnants of elections signs still about, but everyone back to work and their lives. Now wondering how our new president elect will take hold of his new office and how long before we can see some changes. We are anxious for him to do well to give us our great country back. His messages of hope and optimism is a special gift and will be what is needed to head our country back in the right direction and keep us on track. For it will be a long and hard road for our new president and no matter who you voted for, now is the time to get behind our leader and give him our support to join him in hope and a positive outlook for our future. We are America and through tough times we succeed and we can do it again. Even McCain had the most uplifting and positive concession speech and he with a positive outlook encouraged everyone to come together and get behind our new president and to be hopeful and positive in working towards the right direction to keep American strong and as Great as ever. YES WE CAN! Here is to the work ahead in a unified and hopeful strong America. YES WE CAN!

New Inventions For Women

I seen it on the Today Show today. Three women with three really neat products they invented. The first one was the backless bra made by Maidenform. It is not on the market yet but you can pre order one by going to their website. The woman that designed the new backless bra Elaine Cato, from Nashville was wearing one and demonstrated a wide range of movement with out the worry of the straps slipping. Just by the look of it you wonder how it will stay up but she had me convinced. Also not a bad price around 32.00.

The Second invention I seen on the Today Show this morning was the Camileon Heels. These were
totaly phenomenal. Adjustable heel heights with just a flip of the heel, now that is super hero foot wear. Go all day on flat for the daily work that needs to be done then with a flip, pop up into place your high heel to look totally fabulous when you need to. They are a little pricey but I think they just might well be worth the price. I would have to wonder how well the heels hold up with all the flipping back and forth into position but the demonstration on the Today show they looked pretty sturdy.
Here is a video demonstration if you would like to take a look:

The third invention was a holder for a blow dryer to keep your hands free when blow drying your hair. Not as fancy but very practical since a blow dryer can get heavy when blow drying your hair and it would give you more control when styling your hair. It suction cup base attaches to a mirror or stainless steel surface. Might be a problem for small bathrooms to have the holder looming around but if you have the space seems like a great idea. The name of the holder was called the Blo and Go.

Check out their website.

Interesting Computer Lessons you learn from the movies...

# High tech equipment is often driven by a computer with a DOS prompt. (re: RoboCop)

# High tech companies don't do offsite backups of the data (re: Terminator 2)

# All media devices are readily available - ie If someone hands you a DAT tape with important data on it your PC will have a DAT drive.

# No matter what you ask a computer to do it will respond with a percentage complete bargraph - especially when searching for data it can accurately give you the time remaining until it finds that data.

# Data searching will always involve displaying all the searched data on the screen until a match is found - this is true of text and graphics such as fingerprints.

# Telephone calls can be easily redirected through places all over the world, and upon a tracea globe will be displayed complete with lines travelling between each place.

# Deleting of data always takes just a little less time than it takes the bad guys to knock down the door.

# Alltechnology is plug and play - every computer can have any piece of technology attached.

# High tech graphical interfaces are often driven by hundreds of keystrokes which do not appear anywhere on the screen.

# IP addresses automatically supply the feds with the physical address (ie log on and they know where you are!)

# Word processors never display a cursor.

# You never have to use the spacebar when typing long sentences. Just keep hitting the keys without stopping

# All monitors display 2 inch high letters.

# High-tech computers, such as those used by NASA, the CIA, or some such governmental institution, have easy-to-understand graphical >interfaces.

# Those that don't will have incredibly powerful text-based command shells that can correctly understand and execute commands typed in plain English.

# Corollary: You can gain access to any information you want by simply typing "ACCESS ALL OF THE SECRET FILES" on any keyboard.

# Likewise, you can infect a computer with a destructive virus by simply typing "UPLOAD VIRUS." Viruses cause temperatures in computers, > >just like they do in humans. After a while, smoke billows out of disk >drives and monitors.

# All computers are connected. You can access the information on the villain's desktop computer, even if it's turned off.

# Powerful computers beep whenever you press a key or whenever the screen changes. Some computers also slow down the output on the screen so that it doesn't go faster than you can read. The *really* advanced ones also emulate the sound of a dot-matrix printer as the characters come across the screen.

# All computer panels have thousands of volts and flash pots just underneath the surface. Malfunctions are indicated by a bright flash, a puff of smoke, a shower of sparks, and an explosion that forces you backward. (See #7, above)

# People typing away on a computer will turn it off without saving the data.

# A hacker can get into the most sensitive computer in the world before intermission and guess the secret password in two tries.

# Any PERMISSION DENIED has an OVERRIDE function.

# Complex calculations and loading of huge amounts of data will be accomplished in under three seconds. In the movies, modems transmit data at two gigabytes per second.

# When the power plant/missile site/whatever overheats, all the control panels will explode, as will the entire building.

# If you display a file on the screen and someone deletes the file, it also disappears from the screen. There are no ways to copy a >backup file -- and there are no undelete utilities.

# If a disk has encrypted files, you are automatically asked for a password when you try to access it.

# No matter what kind of computer disk it is, it'll be readable by >any system you put it into. All application software is usable by all >computer platforms.

# The more high-tech the equipment, the more buttons it has. However, everyone must have been highly trained, because the buttons aren't labelled.

# Most computers, no matter how small, have reality-defying three-dimensional, real-time, photo-realistic animated graphics capability.

# Laptops, for some strange reason, always seem to have amazing real-time video phone capabilities and the performance of a CRAY-MP.

# Whenever a character looks at a VDU, the image is so bright that it projects itself onto his/her face.

# Computers never crash during key, high-intensity activities. Humans operating computers never make mistakes under stress.

# Programs are fiendishly perfect and never have bugs that slow down users.

# Any photograph can have minute details pulled out of it. You can zoom into any picture as far as you want to.

How to clear your browsers cookies

How to Clear Your Browser's Cookies

from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit

Online safety is the number one priority for many people in the world today. Clearing your Internet browser's cookies can help by deleting the information that websites have gathered about you and stored on your computer as small text files. Most of these files are completely harmless, but others store where you went, what you did, and any personal information you gave. Web sites may also allow other websites (their advertisers, for example) to put cookies, known as third-party cookies, on your computer. This is a simple guide to clear your browser's cookies to ensure that companies are not keeping tabs on what you do online.

Steps

  1. Open your browser. Since each browser is set up differently, we will look at the process for each of the four major browsers: Internet Explorer 6, Firefox 1.5, Opera, and Konqueror.

Internet Explorer 6

  1. Once your browser is open, select the Tools menu and click Internet Options and select the General tab.
  2. To delete all cookies, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Cookies and press OK.
  3. If you wish to delete only specific cookies and keep others, instead of Step 2:
    1. Click the Settings button, then click View Files.
    2. Scroll through the list and select the cookies you want to delete.
    3. Multiple cookies can be selected by holding down the CTRL key while clicking.
    4. Press the Delete key.
    5. Press OK on any dialog boxes that appear.

Firefox 1.5

  1. Once your browser is open, select the Tools menu and click Options (may also be under Edit -> Preferences depending on your version) and select the Privacy button.
  2. Select the Cookies tab.
  3. To delete all cookies click the Delete All Cookies button.
  4. To delete specific cookies, click View Cookies and look through the list of the sites you wish to delete the cookies for, and press Remove Cookies. You can even expand each site to delete specific cookes from each site.

Opera

  1. Once your browser is open, select the Tools menu and click Delete Private Data and click the Details button.
  2. If you wish to keep things such as history, saved passwords, cache, etc., uncheck those items and click Delete. You may get a dialog that says "Active transfer has not been removed." if you are currently downloading a file.
  3. If you want to only delete certain cookies, click Tools and hover Advanced and click Cookies. From this screen, you can search for and select cookies to be deleted. To do so, select the select the site or the individual cookie and click Delete.

Konqueror

  1. Once your browser is open, selec the Settings menu and click Configure Konqueror.
  2. Scroll down and select Cookies.
  3. Click the Management tab.
  4. Select the cookies you wish to delete and click Delete, or click Delete All to delete all cookies.

Tips

  • It is a good idea to clear your browser's cookies on a regular basis.
  • You can disable or restrict cookies through the sections above. This is recommended for security reasons, but will render some sites inoperable. It is possible to only allow cookies for sites that you specify.
  • It is a good time to clear your browser's cache while you are clearing the cookies. The cache stores information, images, and web pages on your computer for quick and easy access. Hackers can obtain crippling financial information from your cache if you're not careful.

Warnings

  • Deleting cookies often means that you will have to re-login to sites that you have specified to automatically keep you logged in. This is not necessarily so if you have set your browser to save your password instead.
  • Not deleting cookies regularly allows companies and advertisers more about you than you may wish them to.
  • The use of Internet Explorer may help lead to identity theft, because it allows the use of ActiveX controls. While not directly related to cookies, ActiveX controls pose an immediate threat to Windows users that visit websites that use ActiveX controls to exploit security flaws in Internet Explorer. Experts reccommend more secure browsers, such as Firefox or Opera.
