A piebald deer

You may only see this one time in your life.
Click on the photos for larger picture.

The term `piebald`, used to identify a whitetail with at least one extra splotch ofwhite hair, has an interesting origin. 'Pie' means 'mixed up;' 'bald' means 'having a white spot.'
To a horseman, a 'piebald' is a horse with black and white splotches; one with brown and white splotches actually is known as a 'skew bald.'

I feel like I am home finally with this new and great way to blog.  Ouch, my cat bit me, why does he do that when I am concentrating on something?

Profesional Regulations

The other day I received an email from one of the members of the Danville Illinois Yahoo Group that stated a question about groups for information about local Doctors.

The email read:

Hi Tenna, Could you tell me how I would find out if there is a group out there that deals with Drs? I would like to see if there are pros and cons from any of our local people about our local Doctors. If there is a group, it is definitely one I would want to join. Thanks

I thought that would be a great group to belong to myself. However I was unable to find any "groups" or local forums that discussed the local doctors. At least not yet. If anyone starts a group like this or knows of any in the Danville Illinois area that exsist let me know and I will pass along the word.

However I did know there had to be some kind of data base or way of seeing a record of licenses for Doctors and if there had been any disciplinary action taken. So I went to our State Government web pages and dug this up for anyone that has not thought of looking here for information.

The State of Illinois has an Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
From the professional Regulation site you can go to the License Look Up pages for information on just about any professional business that has to have a liscense to operate in the state of Illinois. The License Look-up results include the Licensee's Name, License Number, License Status, City and State, Original Date of Licensure , License Expiration Date and Disciplinary Action Indicator. Got to the License Look-up page HERE and use the Profession drop down window to Physcian and then enter the last name of the Doctor you are looking up or the name of the business ect. If you try and enter the full name of a doctor it will not bring up any results you must use just the last name only.

The information furnished is from DPR's official databases and is updated daily. If you are unable to find the licensee information you want, you may contact the division by phone at (217) 785-0800 or by mail at 320 West Washington, Springfield, IL 62786.

If you want to report a doctor regarding misconduct, the best thing to do is contact
your state medical board by writing a detailed, nice, professional "Registered or Certified Letter" regarding your situation.
