Wow, it's a media extravaganza. The football game between the Fighting Illini and Northwestern in Wrigley Field is taking on historic proportions. The old ball diamond is getting a football makeover as ESPN's College Gameday comes to Chicago. Of course, there is also an important game to be played that has important implications for the Illini.

Life Explained

A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.

"Not very long," answered the Mexican.
"But then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the American.

The Mexican explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family. The American asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

"I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs. I have a full life."

The American interrupted, "I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat.

""And after that?" asked the Mexican.

"With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge new enterprise."

"How long would that take?" asked the Mexican.

"Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years," replied the American.

"And after that?"

"Afterwards? Well my friend, that's when it gets really interesting," answered the American, laughing. "When your business gets really big, you can start buying and selling stocks and make millions!"

"Millions? Really? And after that?" asked the Mexican.

"After that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends."

And the moral of this story is: ......... Know where you're going in life... you may already be there.

The Flour Parade

I just can't seem to make home made egg noodles with out getting flour all over my tiny little kitchen/dinning room/living room.  But is so worth it!  Home made noodles are very inexpensive to make and you pair that with a whole chicken a few seasonings its a lot of food for little money and so good!Fighting off colds with home made chicken noodle soupphoto © 2009 ben dalton | more info (via: Wylio)

I learned how to make home made noodles from my grandma and they were great.  But when I went to The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago for one of the pasta classes I took. I learned how to make them the best!  Nothing like grandma's recipes with a bit of science and art!   The only bad thing now is I am all alone to eat them when they are finished, but that's ok I can share them with family.  Left overs are always good too.  Oh and I am topping it of with a really nice simple Chocolate Cake! YUM!  So I guess the Flour Parade through my modest home is quite ok!

Driscoll Middle School Trick Play

It's Worth A Look. Sure would love to know who thought that play up. I would also hate to be the other team or the coach of the other team. Was anyone paying attention at all? I bet it could not be played again. Did the clever tricksters win the game? I wonder I wonder.

Filth Wizardry: Iron on decals from plastic shopping bags - StumbleUpon

Check out this website I found at stumbleupon.com

I thought this would be fun to try for you crafties out there. I might even try it my self for some of my grand daughter's tee's. She would love her own custom made shirts and pants. What do you think about this idea? Have you ever tried this before?

Free Sterling Silver Jewelry

Free Sterling Silver with real Gemstones, no catch, no gimmicks, no obligation

I just have to share this, I just found out about this site 2 days ago from an email friend that passes along coupons and deals and I have never been so excited about Jewelry in a very long time. It just isn't something I buy for my self. But when I seen the offer was really free with no obligations to any monthly clubs or no spam attached or no gimicks like a hundred page survey to fill out I was simply blown away.

More than that I actually loved the various designs and gemstones they were offering. They put up a new design every few minutes but you can look ahead to see what is coming up so you can pick and choose what you like and it's FREE you just pay shipping and handling. So I thought ok this is where they get you on the shipping and handling. NOT SO! It is very reasonable only 6.99 to ship. So I seen something that really appealed to me so I thought I am going to try this.

I took a second look at the Terms of Service to make sure I was not missing any hidden fees before I committed my visa number. I want to mention again this is Sterling Silver pieces of jewelry they offer the pendants for necklaces, ear rings and rings. The Rings you only can buy the size they have up but they do put up a variety of sizes at different times. So you can wait and look for the gemstone and the size you would like. I am sure you will find a beautifully unique piece you would fall in love with.

So I ordered a pendent a green Peridot gem in Sterling Silver setting. So I go through the ordering process and another delightful perk. They offer a chain for the pendants in different links for only $4.00 more. I ordered a 20 inch chain to go with. My total order came to only 10.99. I received an email conformation of my order immediately after the order and today I received an email saying my ordered had been processed and shipped. FAST... can't wait for it to arrive.

Anyway I get a little ahead of myself. I placed this order on Saturday and I was so pleased with the process that I made another order on Sunday. I also received today the second email conformation of that order being shipped also. I am very excited can not wait to see if they are as beautiful and of quality as they look online.

I will let you know when they arrive with a photo of what I purchased. But if you want to get in on this and I do recommend them and I felt so good about the ordering process that I decided to partner with them and join their affiliate program and you can do that too. So if you ...
